Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for an Electrical Quality Control Supervisor in Selebi-Phikwe, Botswana to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Electrical QC Supervisor, you will monitor Quality on site, perform inspections, ensure complying of Contractors to the Project Quality Plan, follow up & closing out Punch Lists while liaising with the Construction Supervisors & Engineers.
Main responsibilities
- Pro-actively engage with Contractors’ supervisors to optimize daily progress & inspections & monitor the contractor for compliance to the Project Quality Plan at all times.
- Ensure all work carried out is compliant to ISO 9001:2015.
- Review and follow up on and implement contractor’s QC registers such as non-conformance, QCP, ITP checklist and punch lists.
- Perform inspections by compiling required Construction Quality reports.
- Sign off on Construction Quality inspection reports from suppliers.
- During commissioning and mechanical completion, follow up open punches and sign off punches closed by suppliers and Participate in Site Acceptance Tests.
- Identify, advise, and report to the HSE Manager issues and risks associated with the Project.
- At all times, keep the quality records, including all working Registers, punch lists, ITPs, Check Lists up to date.
Qualifications and competencies
- Technical National Electrical (HV) Trade Certificate with at least 5 years’ Site experience.
- Proof of Internship/ apprenticeship completion at a reputable Electrical Institution (ESKOM, Governmental Sector, etc.) with 10+ years’ experience on large scale projects.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Formal Quality Qualification (Six Sigma green/black).
- You are used to changing environments and to quickly meet new challenges.
- Formal Quality Inspection Training Certifications with proof of 15+ Quality Control Experience with contactable references to act as referee for experience & achievements on Construction Projects
- Competent in navigating & applying Quality Management Systems
- Experienced in working & complying to IEC Standards
- Valid driver's license
