Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for an Electrical HV Construction Supervisor in Tozeur, Tunisia to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Electrical HV Construction Supervisor you will supervise all HV activities at site, monitor physical progress of the works and report status and deviations on quality, time, cost and HSSE, engage daily with the site managers of sub-suppliers; support on PV Electrical scope when required.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure the HV facilities are constructed correctly as per the design
  • Review and approve design change requests
  • Manage construction, testing, commissioning and energization activities toward Plant Energization Plan and Commercial Operation Date
  • Support in the project close-out phase towards TTO
  • Organization of workflow within the company team, Contractors, and Subcontractors
  • Negotiations with Contractors (contract signing, policies, method statements, requirements)
  • Overall quality control for civil, electrical and testing procedures
  • Resolve the non-conformities, supervise quality documents workflow
  • Ensure that HSSE requirements are fulfilled by all parties involved in the project
  • Support the design team in making appropriate changes to the project
  • Suggest changes to the project design to reduce cost and speed up the execution
  • Organization SATs, provide reports, and investigate non-conformities found
  • Analyze electrical and mechanical test reports and root cause analysis in case failures are found
  • Coordination of interfaces with contractors, partners, consultants, inspectors, and third-party visitors operating on site
  • Revision of grid code requirements prior to the PV plant interconnection
  • Revision of technical specifications for HV and MV equipment
  • Manage testing and commissioning of the HV substation, and ensure the coordination between all parties engaged
  • Coordination, introduction and support of O&M staff
  • Confirmation of the milestones fulfillment based on Contractor’s deliverables
  • Ensure that the project is executed within the schedule and all deliverables meet the requirements of Company policies of Quality, Compliance, HSE, Sustainability

Qualifications and competencies

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electro/Mechanical Engineering (Specialization in Solar and/or renewables will be an advantage)
  • 5+ years’ experience working in the field of high-voltage equipment and systems / Transmission Lines
  • 3+ years’ experience working in the field of EPC in medium to large size construction projects
  • Knowledge about HV and TL best industry practices
  • Knowledge about civil best industry practices, Quality Control System, Root Cause Analysis, Pareto Analysis, Ishikawa and so on
  • 1+ years PV experience will be advantage
  • Previous experience with Grid Operators and Regulatory Organizations related to the project will be advantage
  • Fluent both written and spoken English, French and Arabic
  • An excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Driver’s license
