Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Procurement and Logistics Manager in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Procurement and Logistics Manager you will provide a procurement and logistics management service to the relevant business unit through frequent reporting and ensuring that goods are delivered on time, within budget and compliant with procurement policies and within the expected quality requirements. Including contracts administration of the various supply, services and construction contracts and where necessary offer input into the relevant Head EPC Contract administration.

Main responsibilities

  • Successfully implement the operating system throughout the structuring and execution phase of the Project
  • Ensure that all supply chain related risks are identified during the structuring phase, timeously communicated to Project Manager and incorporated into the project risk register for tracking and mitigation
  • Prepare and issue logistics advice to the project
  • Responsible for all project RFP’s, evaluations, recommendations, and final procurement strategy
  • Assist the project manager and cost control to incorporate the project estimate into the controlling tool
  • Ensure that the correct contract templates are loaded, reviewed and applicable for use during RFP’s
  • Establish and maintain the project shipping register once contracts are in place and before shipments commence
  • Identify project site roles and recruit the required resources in line with the execution requirements of the project
  • Ensure that the milestone project documentation is obtained, shared on the document management system and communicated to Project Team
  • Advise the Project Manager of potential contract breaches and manage assigned project risks
  • Prepare and implement contract variations to Suppliers timeously and ensure receipt of variations is acknowledged/agreed upon
  • Ensure that all procurement packages are managed within contract budget and ensure that contracts are closed out at end of project
  • Advise Projects and Operations team on appropriate training to Operation & Maintenance team by equipment by Suppliers
  • Ensure that warranty register is handed over to Asset Management team
  • Manage warranty claims on defective products with Suppliers
  • Manage the training and follow up of relevant O&M personnel for the implementation of the procurement policy and procedure
  • Conduct the audit of the implementation of procurement policy and procedure

Qualifications and competencies

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering + master of Business Administration
  • 8+ years’ experience in Supply Chain management on related Projects including 2+ years’ experience in a managerial position
  • Excellent knowledge in Excel, MSWord, and PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of accounting systems like SAP / D365
  • Knowledge and experience in Power to X projects, process plants
  • Legal, Financial or Quantity Surveying qualification is a plus
  • 3+ years’ experience in renewable energy construction projects, with specific focus on Wind and Solar PV projects
  • Knowledge and experience in Power to X projects, process plants (execution exposure) in Egypt.
  • Good knowledge of the local Supply and Construction industry
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written (and other languages if needed or ideal)
  • You are used to changing environments and to quickly meet new challenges

  • Should be available and accustomed to travel internationally to 3rd world and other countries

  • Strong ability to strategically lead a local team of supply chain resources for the project and establish a project supply chain function and endorse such strategy within the wider Scatec team and position the administration to align to such strategy
  • High degree of discipline and drive toe execute tasks on time and with highest levels of quality
  • Set example and implement strong business ethics and assure corporate compliance and ethics are adhered to at all time
  • Represent and uphold the Scatec brand in the local Country
