Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for an Quantity Surveyor in Tozeur, Tunisia to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Quantity Surveyor you will conduct contractor tenders against bill of quantities, site progress measurement and follow up of contracts in accordance with the corporate standards, policies and procedures.

Also you will assist the contract representatives with the pro-active administration to secure the cost, time and quality as envisaged in the contracts.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide continuous input towards improvement and optimisation of the operating system
  • Implement the operating system throughout the development, structuring and execution phase of the Project
  • Assist Contract Manager with drafting contract correspondence, variation orders and notices in accordance with the contract
  • Maintain a contract register depicting correspondence in and out, variations, contract risks and final account details
  • Ensure that in house legal counsel is kept abreast of critical topics that have the potential to affect time, cost or quality
  • Conduct progress measurements for payment certification
  • Settle site disputes on quantities and minor contract issues
  • Keep contractor relations and correspondence open and clear
  • Liaise with Project Controller/Contract Manger and set up a system to ensure all Contract cost changes are traceable from start to finish so that an auditable costing trail is available
  • Prepare and negotiate final account agreements under strict compliance with corporate governance and under guidance from of the Project management

Qualifications and competencies

  • Bachelor Degree Science QS or Technically
  • 5+ years’ Construction Contract Administration experience with the FIDIC suite of contracts in companies with strong procurement and Supply Chain Management practices
  • Knowledge of contracts suites, NEC, GCC, FIDIC, EPC Contractors scope, EPC Contractors Schedule, the activities and deliverables
  • Fluent both in written and spoken English and French, Arabic is a plus
  • Good communication and organizational skills, customer and goal oriented, team player
