Job Description

In the role of Support Engineer, reporting to IT Service Manager - Italy, you will focus on IT support and user support. This includes the operation of our IT systems at production and other locations. As part of your work, you will support other IT teams in the area of fault diagnosis, installations, maintenance and thus strengthen our on-site IT team.

You will be responsible to:

  • Be the first contact for users regarding all IT inquiries
  • Create incidents and handle incidents and requests for applications, hardware, network, and all IT services
  • Process IT changes - plan changes and implement them on time
  • Create documentation
  • Identifying and applying sustainable solutions
  • Support of other IT teams within Sappi
  • Regular monthly on-call service

Your Profile

  • Passion, interest and talent for this field of information technology
  • Successfully completed IT technical education (University Degree or other high school level education with a focus on IT or corresponding practice/experience)
  • Practical and basic knowledge in some of the following technical areas: end devices (PCs, notebooks, printers...), network (switches, access points, cabling...)
  • Basic knowledge in the field of Windows and network technologies
  • Very good knowledge of Italian and English
  • Flexibility, discretion and a sense of confidentiality
  • Self-motivating, proactive personality, creativity, high willingness to learn new things
  • Very good analysis and problem-solving skills (troubleshooting)
  • Independent and communicative working style within the support team
  • Willingness to travel on a case-by-case basis
