Sappi Europe is entering an exciting strategic phase, after announcing intent to form an independent Joint Venture, aiming to build a more resilient, efficient, and future‑ready organization within the evolving graphic paper industry.
For our Cracow team we are looking for a seasoned HR Manager, who will lead and support daily HR work, closely support the Head of the Cracow Centre of Process Excellence in organizational management activities, play a key role in supporting the Sappi CoPE strategy execution, and contribute to local and global initiatives, including those related to the planned JV.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the daily HR operations at Sappi Cracow CoPE
- Act as a key partner to the Head of the Centre of Process Excellence by supporting management activities, organizational planning, and execution of the CoPE strategic priorities
- Ensure high‑quality execution of personnel administration and payroll processes by gathering, reviewing and preparing necessary data.
- Actively participate in HR projects, including those related to the planned Joint Venture.
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes, from needs analysis to hiring.
- Provide guidance to managers on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and legally sound outcomes.
- Oversee onboarding, performance management, L&D and succession planning.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with reporting obligations, audits and GDPR.
- Support C&B activities including benchmarking and annual review cycles.
- Drive change management initiatives aligned with business and site strategy.
- Act as a trusted advisor on HR policies, compliance, and risk mitigation, in line with Polish law and global standards..
- Collaborate with senior leaders to strengthen organizational effectiveness, employee engagement and talent development.
- Being part and contributing within SEU HR platform
Your profile
- Strong working knowledge of Polish Labour Law.
- HR experience in complex, fast‑changing organizations; SSC experience preferred.
- Good command of Polish and English.
- People leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience, including participation or leadership in projects.
- Solid understanding of strategic management and business processes.
- Experience supporting senior leadership in organizational development, governance structures, and strategic HR initiatives will be an advantage.
- Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
- Working knowledge of Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Stress resilience and ability to work under time pressure.
We are hybrid and Flexible:
In Krakow office we work in a hybrid working model, we expect you to be present in the office at least twice a week.
