We’re on the lookout for Quality Controller Timber to ensure To ensure that all fibre receipts entering the mill by road conform to all set specifications.
As a Quality Controller Timber you will be responsible for:
- Inspect all chemical loads and ensure that the timber conforms to the set specifications.
- Inspect all newsprint loads and ensure that the timber conforms to the set specifications.
- Inspect all hardwood loads and ensure that the timber conforms to the set specifications.
- Prepare warning or rejection notice for no conforming loads.
- Deny mill access of rejected chemical and hardwood loads.
- Transfer rejected Newsprint and offloads the rejected load as chemical.
- Reject loads leaking water.
- Load timber receipts on relevant forms.
- Quality checks delivery notes.
- Communicate with all the drivers and make sure that they understand and comply to the mill’s safety standards.
- Deny mill access to unsafe vehicle
- Ensure permit timber is accompanied by a permit before it is allowed to be offloaded.
- Load BOC entering the mill on relevant BOC forms.
- Identify; communicate and mitigate risks.
What are we looking for?
- Matric (Grade 12) with maths & Physics or N3 in Pulp and Paper.
- At least a minimum of 1 to 3 Years relevant experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Receiving Bay experience will be advantageous.
