We’re on the lookout for Quality Controller Timber to ensure To ensure that all fibre receipts entering the mill by road conform to all set specifications.

As a Quality Controller Timber you will be responsible for:

• Inspect all chemical loads and ensure that the timber conforms to the set specifications.
• Inspect all newsprint loads and ensure that the timber conforms to the set specifications.
• Inspect all hardwood loads and ensure that the timber conforms to the set specifications.
• Prepare warning or rejection notice for no conforming loads.
• Deny mill access of rejected chemical and hardwood loads.
• Transfer rejected Newsprint and offloads the rejected load as chemical.
• Reject loads leaking water.
• Load timber receipts on relevant forms.
• Quality checks delivery notes.
• Communicate with all the drivers and make sure that they understand and comply to the mill’s safety standards.
• Deny mill access to unsafe vehicle
• Ensure permit timber is accompanied by a permit before it is allowed to be offloaded.
• Load BOC entering the mill on relevant BOC forms.
• Identify; communicate and mitigate risks.

What are we looking for?

• Matric (Grade 12) with maths & Physics or N3 in Pulp and Paper.
• At least a minimum of 1 to 3 Years relevant experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Receiving Bay experience will be advantageous.
