Job Title: Commercial Engineer - Energy & Charging
Department: Commercial Department
Salary: KES 1.08M/yr - KES 1.20M/yr

As a Commercial Engineer in our Commercial department, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, driving sales, building strategic relationships, supporting groundbreaking solutions for solar energy, and charging.

As a forward-thinking organisation dedicated to addressing climate change and supporting local economies, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality electric vehicles that meet the needs of various sectors in the Kenyan market and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solar Equipment Sales.
- Drive sales of solar equipment to customers in Kenya and East Africa.
- Develop customer engagement and training activities in collaboration with suppliers.
- Enhance online presence and contribute to building a new website.
- Work with the communications team to run monthly email campaigns for customers and leads.
2. Engineering, Procurement and Construction Agreement Sales.
- Manage and grow a pipeline of prospects across various market segments.
- Generate new leads among different segments of the market and develop them until success and payment of deposit.
- Build relationships with financial institutions and project developers to facilitate lease-to-own and PPA turnkey projects.
- Maintain customer relationships, especially those with Service Operation and Maintenance Agreements (SOMA).
3. Charging Business Development.
- Maintain strategic partnerships with retail brands for electric vehicle charging stations.
- Support regional sales teams in unlocking new charging locations.
- When possible, design solar-powered charging solutions to lower costs and environmental impact.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Proven track record in sales, lead generation, and customer engagement.
- Experience in marketing, business development, or related fields.
- Exposure to renewable energy, electric mobility, or charging infrastructure is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Renewable Energy, or related field).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales or business development within the energy or technology sector.
- A combination of technical expertise and commercial/business knowledge is highly desirable.
