About Savannah Seritech

Savannah Seritech is transforming Africa’s silk industry by building a regenerative and climate resilient sericulture ecosystem. The company is pioneering Africa’s first modern silk value chain, grounded in rural Kenya and focused on mulberry farming and silkworm rearing. Backed by Pyramidia Venture Studio, the venture blends field-based action with global expertise to deliver scalable impact.

About the role

This is a fixed-term, on-site opportunity based in rural Kenya (Sindo, Homabay). The role is suited for individuals who bring deep practical knowledge of mulberry-based sericulture and are motivated to make a hands-on contribution to rural transformation. • Deliver field-based training and demonstrations for local farmers.
  • Oversee the setup and ongoing maintenance of rearing facilities and demonstration plots.

  • Maintain and operate tools and equipment used in the sericulture process.
  • Set up reporting dashboards and document field data accurately.
  • Share daily and weekly reports and key insights with the management team.
  • Contribute to field documentation and continuous improvement of best practices.

You are:

  • Deeply passionate about Savannah Seritech’s mission and values.
  • Experienced in mulberry sericulture with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Confident in silkworm rearing and understand the end to end processes of sericulture.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and physically prepared for rural field conditions.
  • A strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with teams and engaging with farmers.
  • Curious and open to learning more about silk processing or the broader textile industry.
  • A holder of a diploma or certificate in Sericulture or a closely related field.
  • Additional knowledge in silk processing or the broader textile value chain will be considered a strong advantage.
