About the role

We’re looking for the next addition to our Product team – a Freelance Copywriter! You’ll work with our Product Marketing and Design teams to tell the story about our products and experience. We want copy that helps people understand complex products that deliver simple value, for anyone.

Here’s what the role entails:

Translating product positioning strategy into copy

• The Product Growth team has developed a positioning strategy that expresses what value we deliver, and to who
• You will be responsible for bringing that positioning to light in a way that resonates with a number of different audiences; from homeowners, all the way to the CEO of a solar company
• You need to be able to tailor positioning for different channels and audiences, ensuring there is consistency but audience-appropriateness

Developing and editing copy for collateral

• You’ll need to create copy and content for a number of collateral formats; brochures, web pages, emails, WhatsApps, decks, and more
• You will work with the Product Marketing Manager to understand the core objectives of everything you work on, and with the Designer to understand how your inputs can deliver this most effectively
• You will need to copy edit any other copy created and have an eye for detail to ensure your own content is print ready

Developing foundational content principles

• You’ll look at how we can future-proof and scale our content creation by developing things like Tone of Voice guides, Nomenclature playbooks and copy repositories
• You need to be able to think of copy and content not just as output but something that can be repurposed and repackaged, rather than something that’s done once

About you

• You have 5-10 years of experience in Copywriting, Content Creation or a similar role
• You have a Marketing, Copywriting or Journalism degree or diploma, or have industry-recognised certification
• You have a technical copy/translation background. This product works with hardware, AI and software to deliver value that any person can use and understand so there is a big need for “translation” while still delivering a hook
• You have a talent for writing compelling content (you can transform complex ideas into beautiful copy)
• You are hard-working and put care into everything you do
• You have a growth mindset and always want to improve the way you work and what you know
