About the role

As a Sales Executive at Plentify, you will play a key role in achieving the company’s revenue targets within the South African market. Your responsibilities will include executing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and driving business development efforts

Required Skills

  • Sales execution: Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets through customer acquisition and retention.
  • Customer success: Build and deepen strong relationships with your customers, become their trusted advisor, and grow our business with that customer over time.
  • Business development: Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand market presence and increase revenue.
  • Product advocacy: Work closely with the product team to understand and effectively communicate the value propositions of Plentify’s products.
  • Market analysis: Monitor market trends and competitor activities to provide feedback to the leadership team.
  • Performance tracking: Maintain accurate records of sales and customer interactions, contributing to revenue forecasting.
We think you’ll do well in this role if you:
  • Have successfully delivered on B2B sales targets, in excess of >R50m per year.
  • Bring more than 5 years of experience in the energy sector, with knowledge in smart energy solutions, solar, load management, or demand response.
  • Bring more than 3 years of experience in a technology sector, involving deploying physical hardware and software solutions
  • Have a track record of securing and growing major accounts (annual contracts exceeding R10m pa) and maintaining high retention rates (95%+).
  • Have built deep relationships with the C-Suite at e.g. solar companies, distributors, property developers, and other industry leaders
  • Are skilled in public speaking and have represented companies as a keynote speaker at several industry-related conferences or events.
  • Are adept at using data to drive decision-making
  • Are skilled at using CRMs, e.g. PipeDrive, to manage your workflow and monitor progrss

Required experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales leadership roles, specifically within the energy sector e.g. solar.
  • A demonstrated ability to drive sales performance and exceed targets (R50m+ per year).
