About the role

As a Director of Customer Projects, you will play a crucial role in managing multiple customer projects simultaneously that involve deploying our cutting-edge hardware technology into homes. • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • Regularly communicate project details and status updates both internally and externally.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and deliver presentations.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and budget, and meet the high-quality standards required in the deployment of hardware technology.
  • Conduct risk assessments, ensure projects adhere to relevant legislation and Health and Safety requirements, and develop plans to mitigate risks
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, project schedules and status reports.
  • Ensure all contractual conditions are adhered to and fully manage the invoicing and account management function.
  • Gather feedback from customers and team members about the project’s performance. Use this feedback to develop improvements for future projects.
  • Take the lead in creating a PMO with repeatable and reliable processes, and build and lead a team to support this as we grow

We think you’ll do well in this role if you:

  • Have excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Have a strong background in project management, ideally in deploying technology or infrastructure into homes
  • Are highly organized and adept at juggling multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Are comfortable working remotely, and using tools such as Google Chat, Asana, Zoho, PipeDrive and other software tools
  • Are proactive, with a knack for anticipating challenges and devising effective solutions.
  • Have experience in customer-facing roles and are skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Hold relevant certifications like PMP or Agile/Scrum Master.
  • Have very high attention to detail, and are an analytical, structured and creative problem solver
  • Are an excellent communicator and people manager

We’ll think you’ll love this role if you:

  • Care deeply about delivering complex projects on time, to scope and on budget
  • Care about making a meaningful impact on South African homes and the broader electricity system.

  • Thrive in dynamic environments where each day brings new challenges and opportunities.
  • Find fulfillment in seeing a project from concept to completion and witnessing the tangible impact of your work.
  • Love to form deep, genuine relationships internally and with our customers, and to be a proud ambassador for our business
  • Are attracted to a work environment which offers highly talented colleagues, competitive salaries, flexibility, unlimited paid vacation, and concrete support for mental wellness.
  • Appreciate a culture that values user and customer centricity, ingenuity and adaptability, honesty, ownership, and impact
