Scope of role: user-facing app product design

You wake up in the morning to solve problems with innovative designs that deliver impact. You focus on making complex things simple and efficient. You apply a deep understanding of user behaviour, design principles, and technology to solve complex challenges that create an exceptional user experience. You thrive on honest feedback and expect it from your colleagues. You value cross-functional collaboration, a startup pace and are able to adapt to any situation. You have experience working with developers and are acutely aware of development feasibility in your designs. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of our product, from conceptualising new features to refining existing ones.

What’s involved in this role?

Your work involves creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, conducting usability tests, and continuously iterating on designs based on feedback and data analysis.

You will be responsible for:

• Understanding the problem you’re designing for
• Conceptualising and ideating solutions to user needs
• Owning the UX and visual design of our user-facing apps
• Designing user-centric product interfaces and experiences
• Prototyping and wireframing designs to refine and validate usability
• Conducting usability and desirability tests, and translating insights into design decisions
• Collaborating with product managers and engineers to bring visions to life
• Staying current with visual design trends
• Drafting UX copy for your user journeys
• Iterating on designs based on user feedback
• Define the design system and ensure it’s followed to ensure consistency

Experience

• 4-5 years of relevant experience with a strong portfolio
• MSc/BSc degree in Design or Human-Computer Interaction or relevant diploma
• Experience in app design
• Experience defining and maintaining a design system

You can work from wherever, including Plentify’s office in Pinelands, Cape Town.
