OnePower (1PWR) is seeking a Production Manger to develop and support local manufacturing of key renewable energy project components. OnePower Lesotho, a startup Independent Power Producer (IPP), has been selected as the preferred developer of a utility scale solar PV power plant (first to be privately financed in Lesotho). In addition to on-grid solar OnePower was incorporated with a mission to develop bankable pay as you go (PAYG) solar mini-grids for community electrification and is currently in the execution phase of its Minigrids Portfolio. As OnePower electrifies villages with solar minigrids, the Production Manager will manage, implement, evaluate, and scale up production processes supporting the business as needed.

Responsibilities of the Production Manager include but are not limited to:

• Lead a team of technicians and labourers on the factory floor
• Develop and document manufacturing process in consultation with design engineers.
• Ensure quality and benchmarks are achieved.
• Improving manufacturing process and safety is prioritized
• Required skills and experience:
  Dealing with complexity, informing others, leadership and supervision hardware specifications, manufacturing methods and procedures, manufacturing quality, product development, presenting technical information, CAD, CAD/CAM tool, path design
  Minimum 5 years’ experience demonstrating relevant work at a senior level (managing subordinates), must provide references
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Sesotho
• Facility with information technology (computers, tablets, office software)
  Possess a valid Driver’s License
  Degree in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering)
