With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. About the Role

This role provides comprehensive research support as guided by the Digital Team's user research sub-unit processes that enable the organization to understand its customers, their preferences and the challenges & barriers they experience and the general market trends in which we operate through the execution of multiple research studies. You understand the research objectives and support the designing of research plans to guide Tupande’s strategic decisions and enhance customer experience. You will report to a UX Team Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Project execution - data Collection
    • You will conduct research and collect data by assigned methods
    • You will ensure data quality and integrity and compliance to ethical and research protocols as per the expected standards
    • You will manage all the research execution and data collection activities - including zidisha airtime allocations, per diems and transport to the field, participant mobilization and fieldwork research planning, and video / audio equipment setup.
  • Report and Present research findings
    • You will submit completed interviews, audio recordings and questionnaires and other equipment used in fieldwork to the supervisor - and if required, compile research findings in the required format
    • You will assist in the analysis of the collected data and preparation of the final reports and presentations
  • Support the research designing process and implementation of research methods
    • Contribute to the development of the survey tools
    • Participate in the Research Team’s project specific trainings
    • Conduct and provide feedback on project specific pilots ahead of the execution

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Knowledge:
    • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Life/Biological or Social Science or Related Field - Project Management
    • Data Collection experience with multiple research methods applicable to several research needs
    • A good handle on MS Office Suite (Word/Excel/PPT) or Google Sheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
    • Documentation
  • Other:
    • 1+ years of relevant experience
    • Project management skills, including the ability to gather and use relevant data to support key decisions or judgment to drive desired outcomes
    • Good analytical and reporting skills with the ability to translate business and customer insights into solutions
    • Communication skills in person and in writing with colleagues at all organizational levels and across various cultures
    • Fluency in English & Kiswahili
