Cambridge Education is seeking an Early Childhood Development Coordinator for the USAID-funded Early Childhood Education Project in Djibouti.
The main objective of the project to support the preschool education sector in Djibouti is to increase the number of Djiboutian children aged 3 to 6 who benefit from quality, equitable and inclusive preschool education services. The project will achieve this objective through efforts to improve the access, quality, capacity and efficiency of pre-primary services in Djibouti.
More specifically, the project is organized around three intermediate outcomes:
IR1: Improve access to equitable and inclusive early childhood education services.
RI2: Improving the quality of pre-school education services.
IR3: Improving the enabling environment for quality early childhood development (ECD) services.
The expert will provide leadership for Intermediate Outcome 3: Improved enabling environment for quality early childhood development services. This component of the project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Djibouti to lead and manage the coordination of actors in the field of early childhood and to strengthen intersectoral linkages.
This is a full-time role that will be based in Djibouti City.
Required profile:
University degree in education, social sciences or other closely related field;
At least 10 years of experience in the field of education or development, including at least 5 years in a technical assistance or development project;
Experience and/or a thorough understanding of the education system in Djibouti and education partners
Good knowledge of the field of preschool education and its actors.
Good interpersonal skills and leadership experience.
Fluency in French is required.
