Warehouse Assistant - Reverse Logistics
Operations
Lagos, Nigeria
We are looking for a Warehouse Assistant - Reverse Logistics to join our Warehouse team in Lagos, Nigeria where progress, and humility are valued as highly as technical excellence.
About M-KOPA
M-KOPA connects everyday Africans to life-changing technology through accessible credit - no lump-sum payments, no bank account required. With 7 million customers served, over $2 billion in credit extended, and 55% of our customers accessing formal financial services for the first time, we're not just a fintech. We're infrastructure for economic inclusion across Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa. Behind that scale is a supply chain that has to work. That's where you come in.
The role
As a Warehouse Assistant - Reverse Logistics, you're the first line of quality control in our device returns pipeline. You receive, diagnose, classify, and hand over returned devices with the rigour and pace that keeps downstream operations - refurbishment, resale, write-off; running on time and with confidence. Your work directly determines what gets recovered and what gets lost.
What makes this different
At M-KOPA, your throughput target isn't arbitrary - 150 to 170 devices receipted per day maps directly to customer credit decisions and asset recovery timelines. You'll also inherit a 2,000+ device backlog on day one, with a clear four-week mandate to clear it. That's real ownership, not a vague KPI handed down from a manager. You'll see the impact of your classification decisions reflected in a live RL Ageing Dashboard, updated daily with your own pre-check logs.
What You'll Do
Receive, log, and process incoming devices daily - hitting the 150–170 device receipting target while executing the mandatory pre-check protocol: power-on status, physical damage, screen functionality, IMEI validation, and FRP/password lock screening.
Manage device turnaround with precision: every unit moves from warehouse receipting to the Refurbs queue within 48 hours, with all five device categories tracked to a 24–72 hour TAT standard and a 95%+ quality reliability rate maintained across the pipeline.
Drive backlog reduction, prepare verified batch handovers for the weekly Monday Refurbs handover, and keep daily pre-check logs accurate and current to feed real-time reporting.
What You'll Need
Demonstrable hands-on experience in device inspection, mobile phone diagnostics, or electronics quality control with a track record of working accurately at volume.
Proven ability to manage structured workflows under strict turnaround standards, with attention to detail that holds even when throughput demands are high.
Experience working with inventory or asset tracking systems, and comfort updating operational logs that feed into live reporting dashboards.
The honest part
This role moves fast and the standards are unambiguous. You'll be expected to hit daily targets, clear a significant inherited backlog, and maintain quality rates that protect the downstream refurbishment pipeline. If you thrive on measurable output and take satisfaction in knowing exactly where you stand at the end of each day, this is your kind of environment.
