We are looking for a Marketing Officer to join our Marketing team; as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Marketing Coordinator to support our Nigeria operations. Reporting to the Marketing Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in enabling marketing execution across multiple functions — including Sales, Retail, Retention, and Warehouse.
This is a highly operational role where coordination, organization, and attention to detail directly influence how effectively our marketing strategy comes to life on the ground.
About Us
M-KOPA is a pan-African fintech on a mission to make financial services accessible to everyone. Recognized by the Financial Times as one of Africa’s fastest-growing companies (2022 and 2023) and named in the TIME100 Most Influential Companies in 2023, we’ve unlocked over $1 billion in credit for more than 3 million customers across the continent — many accessing formal financial services for the very first time.
With a strong focus on growth and impact, we invest deeply in our people through development programs, coaching partnerships, and real on-the-job learning. From flexible work to family-friendly policies, we’re building an environment where both our customers and our teams can thrive.
What makes this different
Most marketing support roles focus on isolated tasks — events here, assets there. This role sits at the center of it all. You’re the engine behind execution, ensuring that campaigns don’t just get planned, but land in the right locations, at the right time, with the right materials.
You’ll have visibility across multiple teams and the opportunity to influence how marketing shows up in real customer environments. It’s less about theory, more about making things happen; consistently and at scale.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, Nigeria. You will be reporting to the Marketing Operations Manager.
What You’ll Do
Supporting the execution of marketing events and activations — from product launches to promotions and trade exhibitions — ensuring everything runs smoothly and aligns with the broader marketing strategy.
Managing marketing materials and brand presence across service centres, retail shops, and partner locations — keeping assets up to date and ensuring strict adherence to brand guidelines.
Owning marketing stock coordination — tracking inventory, distributing materials to teams, monitoring usage, and ensuring timely replenishment in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Maintaining and updating marketing calendars, while supporting planning cycles and ensuring teams stay aligned on upcoming activities.
Conducting regular marketing audits to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all touchpoints.
Partnering with the creative team to ensure timely delivery of marketing assets and following through guaranteed distribution and on-ground availability.
Supporting research and performance tracking efforts — helping measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and sharing insights that inform future decisions.
Managing and updating social media channels with product information, promotions, and engaging content to drive awareness and customer engagement.
What You’ll Need
2+ years of experience in marketing coordination, administration, or a similar operational role where you’ve managed multiple priorities and stakeholders.
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with exposure to marketing, project management, or administration as a plus.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams without losing attention to detail.
Confidence in communication; both written and verbal and the ability to work effectively across different teams.
A process-driven mindset, with solid administrative discipline and a bias for structure and follow-through.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities can shift quickly.
The honest part
This role requires a high level of coordination and ownership across moving parts. You’ll be managing timelines, stakeholders, and logistics; often simultaneously and things won’t always go exactly to plan.
Success here comes from staying organized under pressure, being proactive rather than reactive, and taking pride in execution. If you’re someone who enjoys bringing structure to chaos and seeing tangible results from your work on the ground, this role offers exactly that.
