Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Our in-house Embedded Engineering team work alongside hardware engineers and product managers and develop new and innovative electric mobility products from the ground up.
First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is excited about accelerating electric mobility in Africa. Specifically, someone that has firsthand knowledge and personal involvement working on embedded software at the intersection of the electric mobility and IoT spaces would be a great fit.
What does a typical day look like;
Designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging C language firmware for ST microcontroller architectures.
Executing on and iterating process for high quality and safe mobility engineering based on standards such as ISO26262.
Assessment of remote IoT device telemetry via bespoke and off the shelf tools such as Databricks and building insights into whether field performance is as designed.
Reviewing code and design documentation, providing constructive feedback and proposing optimisations and improvements.
Enhancing product efficiency, stability, and scalability, building product and firmware confidence through observability and validation.
Our Engineers are team, pragmatic in their approach, work extremely well with others, they deploy their firmware and provide post production support where required.

Recruiter call 30 mins - an introduction to the process and M-KOPA
Hiring Team call 45 mins - High level introductions with an Engineer
Presentation/Task done at home 2/3 hrs prep
Task Deep Dive/Final interview 60 mins - This is where most of the magic happens.
