As the Strategy and Operations Analyst will use M-KOPA’s internal data resources and external customer data to uncover and share insights and inform business decisions throughout the company. The Analyst combines technical skills, creativity, and business acumen to improve the understanding of our customer, the market, and company, deliver on operational data processes and increase transparency and accountability. Analytical findings and actionable recommendations are communicated clearly and concisely to the business, with follow-on support to ensure the proper measurement and evaluation.

To achieve this, you will:

  • Proactively identify opportunities where analysis can drive valuable business and departmental results.

  • Collect user requirements on key analytic/reporting needs for key departmental data needs.

  • Query data from various internal and external databases using database languages (e.g., SQL, U-SQL)

  • Clean, interpret, analyze data, and build models using various statistical techniques.

  • Build models, analysis, and transformations on internal data using Excel, SQL and R Test and QA code to ensure high-quality analysis.

  • Design user-friendly, clear, and impactful presentations of analytic findings.

  • Improve and streamline technical and business processes.

  • Work within the department and other support functions to ensure we are enabling data-driven decision making on the most important business questions.

  • Participate in product, customer and sales agents’ surveys as needed.

Experience:

  • 3+ years in data analytics roles, including strong experience doing analysis using excel and querying using SQL.

  • Strong field research experience as a lead added advantage.

  • BSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Mining, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields preferred but not required.

  • Preferred additional skills include R, Python, DAX, and/or PowerBI or other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)

  • Good working knowledge with MS Office packages such as MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel.

  • Excellent communication skills, discussing and describing data related analysis and ability to work across functions and geographies.

  • Agility – able to work in a fast-moving environment with frequent change and a sense of urgency.

  • High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in larger teams.

  • Experience and a high capacity in managing multiple problems and assignments at the same time and delivering high quality outputs.
