Quality Assurance Manager

Legendary Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control for our cookie and condiment manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with a proven track record in managing robust quality systems, ensuring product quality and safety, and driving continuous improvement. The Quality Manager will play a critical role in implementing quality processes across raw material validation, in-process controls, finished product testing, and corrective actions - safeguarding product conformity to specifications. You will collaborate cross-functionally to optimize production efficiency while scaling quality excellence alongside business growth.
Responsibilities:
● Manage a team of at least 7 members to prepare products, product quality and manage inventory Disposition non-conforming inventory - reject, rework or approve with deviation
● Incorporate customer complaints, feedback into quality enhancements
● Drive food safety culture through training and awareness
● Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery
● Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products
● Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues
● Spearhead establishment, implementation and maintenance food safety systems
● Train and retrain processing staff, implement food safety protocol changes across a team and departments
● Reviews client, customer, and user feedback
● Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies
● Running quality control checks and updating quality assurance documentations
● Liaise with labs to conduct necessary lab tests
● Document & organize information such as: health & safety instances, quality management system protocols, protocol changes, customer feedback
● Innovate packaging ideas to enhance shelf lives of all SKUs
● Innovate process to optimize efficiency of personnel, ingredients & time
● Provide support to product development staff
● Provide support to business development operations
Qualifications and skills:
● A degree in Food science and technology, Food processing engineering or any related field with 5 or more years of work experience in food processing, food and beverage industry
● Must have a strong leadership experience
● Strong understanding of food safety principles
● Running food quality control checks and updating quality assurance documentations
● Implementation of food quality management systems such as HACCP and ISO
● Strong problem solving skills relating to food processing, quality and safety issues
● Strong usage ability of Word and Excel
● Must have experience managing a team for a minimum of 12 months
● Must have strong verbal and oral communication
● Must have the ability to report on one’s activities in written and electronic format and the activities of their team
● Must have customer service experience
● Must be self-disciplined and have high integrity
● Food safety certifications
● Ability to work with little or no supervision
