Job Summary
The Head of Recovery and Repossession will lead and manage all recovery, collections, and repossession activities in Kano state. This role is responsible for minimizing asset loss, improving recovery rates, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining positive customer relationships while protecting the company’s financial interests.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of recovery processes, field operations management experience, and the ability to implement structured, data-driven recovery strategies.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive recovery and repossession strategies.
- Set departmental KPIs and performance targets aligned with company objectives.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the recovery and field repossession teams nationwide.
- Provide regular performance reports and insights to executive management.
2. Recovery & Collections Management
- Oversee all delinquent accounts and ensure timely follow-up and recovery actions.
- Design structured repayment and restructuring plans where applicable.
- Monitor portfolio risk trends and proactively address high-risk accounts.
- Optimize recovery rates while maintaining customer engagement standards.
3. Repossession Operations
- Manage end-to-end repossession processes in line with company policy and legal requirements.
- Coordinate with legal, operations, and field teams to ensure seamless asset retrieval.
- Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and safe handling of repossessed assets.
- Minimize asset damage and loss during repossession.
4. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all recovery and repossession activities comply with regulatory and legal standards.
- Develop internal controls to prevent fraud, misconduct, and operational risks.
- Handle escalations and complex recovery cases professionally and ethically.
5. Process Improvement & Reporting
- Analyze recovery performance data to identify trends and improvement areas.
- Implement technology-driven tracking and reporting systems.
- Continuously refine SOPs to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, Operations Management, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in recovery, collections, credit risk, or asset repossession management.
- Proven leadership experience managing field and operational teams.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk management and legal recovery processes.
- Experience in asset-based financing or pay-as-you-go (PAYG) models is an advantage.
