Job Summary
As Retail Sales Manager for Abuja, you’ll be the field general. Your job is to drive retail sales across Abuja, grow our customer base, and lead a team of sales agents/merchandisers to hit the streets, close deals, and make Koolbuy the go-to brand for reliable cooling. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in managing retail sales channels, building and maintaining relationships with key stores, and developing strategies to achieve sales targets. This role requires a proactive leader who can identify opportunities for growth, train and motivate sales teams, and enhance our retail presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed retail sales targets.
- Monitor sales performance across stores and provide actionable insights to improve results.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute promotional activities and campaigns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retailers, distributors, and stores managers.
- Hire, train, and motivate a growing team of sales reps and agents.
- Negotiate contracts, shelf placements, and promotional opportunities with retail partners.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all retail-related queries and partnerships.
- Identify and onboard new retail channels to expand market reach.
- Work with distributors to ensure product availability and timely delivery to stores.
- Optimize product placement and merchandising to maximize visibility and sales.
- Train, mentor, and motivate retail sales teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide performance feedback to ensure alignment with goals.
- Develop training programs to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, challenges, and opportunities to management.
- Recommend pricing adjustments and product bundles to increase competitiveness.
- Ensure that retail partners maintain high standards of customer service.
- Address customer complaints or issues escalated by stores in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in retail sales, preferably in the electronics industry.
- Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Deep understanding of retail sales channels and market dynamics in the electronics sector.
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Leadership qualities with experience managing and motivating sales teams.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel frequently to visit retail partners and stores
- Monitor field sales performance, POS activations, and payment collection trends.
- Track agent KPIs, ensure reps are meeting daily/weekly targets.
- Help coordinate onboarding and training for new field agents.
- Support territory expansions and activation campaigns.
- Manage daily task checklists, timelines, and priorities across the division.
- Ensure product availability, monitor logistics/delivery performance.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate when needed.
- Create and maintain tracking tools and dashboards for visibility.
- Track collections, outstanding payments, and repayment trends.
- Work with Finance and KoolKredit teams on reconciliations and reporting.
- Support pricing review and margin protection efforts.
- Document processes, SOPs, and workflows across the products lifecycle.
- Coordinate between cross-functional teams (Assembly, Aftersales, Marketing, etc.)
- Ensure alignment on priorities and key decisions.
- Lead or co-lead pilot rollouts or innovation initiatives (e.g. POS upgrades, AI integration).
- Collect and analyze customer feedback to inform product evolution.
- Participate in planning sessions for Q2-Q4 expansion.
