Overall Purpose of the Job:
Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines. Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop relevant HSES procedures and templates with integration of country specificities, based on Company procedures.
- Lead and guide and complete HSES prequalification requirements and due diligences for all external parties such as lenders, government entities… etc
- Identify potential hazards & recommend solutions at all stages of projects, including design review.
- Perform environmental screening of projects at early stage of development or due diligence.
- Assist Project Managers to ensure compliance by all project contractors to all relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
- Prepare HSES Plans, Procedures, Method Statements, Risk assessments for the projects, & all Health, Safety & Environment related documentation to ensure compliance with Karm and local requirements.
- Coordinate all quality related correspondence with the customer’s representatives.
- Conduct regular inspections of construction and operational site to make sure that the activities are executed as per the HSES plan and procedures.
- Monitor implementation of environmental and social mitigation measures during construction and O&M phases.
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system.
- Assist Project Managers to implement improvement & prohibition notice to contractors and set up recommendation & corrective action (including close out monitoring).
- Make sure of the proper availability and working conditions of safety equipment.
- Collect relevant information and report HSES data and trends.
- Ensure that the site is legally compliant in all aspects of HSES and Quality
- Lead accidents & incidents investigations.
- Develop and review performance goals and HSES objectives and targets including KPIs.
- To recommend improvements to the HSES program.
- To analyze Quality and HSES trends for all projects.
- Identifying appropriate continuous improvement processes.
- Develop and improve the Behavior Based Safety.
Educational background, Skills and Experience required:
- Bachelor degree in engineering or any related field
- 8-10 years of experience
- Analytical skills
- Communication skills
- Good knowledge of legal framework of the country
- Risk management
- Problem solving skills.
