Overall Purpose of the Job:

The Financial Asset Management Analyst is responsible for monitoring the financial and commercial performance of a portfolio of renewable energy projects across multiple business units. The role focuses on tracking project-level financials, ensuring accuracy and completeness of reporting, and maintaining compliance with contractual, regulatory, and financing requirements. The position requires producing comprehensive financial reports that reflect actual asset performance and highlight risks, deviations, and improvement opportunities.

This position requires regular site visits and travel to operating projects to validate financial and production data, support asset reviews, and work closely with technical and operations teams to ensure financial reporting is fully aligned with on-site realities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the financial and commercial asset management of project SPVs, including coordination with corporate services, banks, insurers, and external service providers.
  • Assist the finance and accounting teams with monthly activities such as bookkeeping support, reconciliations, and tracking of amortization and operating costs at project level.
  • Support financial aspects of contract management, including PPAs, FiTs, land leases, O&M agreements, and other commercial contracts, in coordination with the Technical Asset Management team.
  • Prepare and support periodic financial and asset-level reports, including cash flow tracking, budget vs. actual analysis, and debt service monitoring.
  • Track accounts payable and receivable, support working capital reconciliation, and flag deviations affecting project cash flow or compliance.
  • Support revenue control by reviewing meter readings, production data, and invoices issued by off-takers, and coordinating discrepancies with site, O&M, and technical teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and monitor variances against actual performance throughout the year.
  • Support tax-related activities by coordinating required data and documentation for filings and compliance.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for lenders, investors, and insurers, including periodic reporting and financing covenant compliance.
  • Conduct regular site visits and participate in asset inspections and performance reviews to validate financial and production data and gain direct understanding of operational constraints and risks.

Required Background & Skills

  • Education: Academic background in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Financial Skills: Understanding of financial statements, cost tracking, budgeting, and basic accounting principles; familiarity with IFRS is an advantage.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to compare actual performance against forecasts or baseline scenarios (e.g. budget, P50/P90) and investigate variances.
  • Tools: Strong Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems or asset management platforms is a plus.
  • Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project sites.

Preferred Traits & Mindset

  • Adaptable and comfortable working in both office and on-site environments.
  • Curious and motivated to understand technical, operational, and regulatory aspects of renewable energy and utility projects.
  • Detail-oriented, structured, and reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility toward asset owners and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working across teams and following up to close gaps between data, contracts, and on-the-ground realities.
