Technical Asset Management Engineer

Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Technical Asset Management Engineer is responsible for the technical oversight and performance monitoring of a portfolio of renewable energy assets, ensuring assets operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements through close coordination with O&M contractors and service providers.
This position requires regular site visits and travel to operating projects to inspect asset conditions, validate performance and operational data, and work closely with O&M, technical, and operations teams to ensure technical reporting and performance assessments accurately reflect on-site realities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive technical reports to the Asset Owner, including site condition assessments, performance analysis against key KPIs (Performance Ratio, Availability, losses), review of raw measurement data, and tracking of corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
- Monitor plant performance and support the oversight of O&M contractors by identifying underperformance, recurring alarms, or operational issues, and following up on corrective actions.
- Coordinate with O&M contractors and site teams to track outages, downtime, and maintenance activities, and ensure alignment with contractual obligations.
- Oversee and follow up with service providers and the supporting O&M team (e.g. panel cleaning, site management, security, monitoring systems) to ensure services are delivered in line with operational and contractual requirements.
- Ensure compliance with technical, grid, and regulatory requirements, including PPAs, Interconnection Agreements, and local authority requirements.
- Support warranty management activities by coordinating claim documentation, tracking manufacturer correspondence, and maintaining structured technical records.
- Assist in insurance claim coordination by collecting site data, damage reports, photos, and technical documentation required for claims assessment.
- Lead data collection and analysis for asset optimization initiatives, including performance improvement measures, equipment upgrades, and operational adjustments, in coordination with the Operations Manager.
- Conduct regular site visits and participate in inspections and audits to verify site conditions, validate operational data, and support coordination with on-site personnel.
Required Background & Skills
- Education: Academic background in Renewable Energy, Power, Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, or related engineering and technical disciplines.
- General Skills: Ability to interpret operational events and performance data into clear, meaningful insights for Asset Owners, and present practical options and recommendations.
- Data & Tools: Strong data analysis skills with good command of Excel for organizing, analyzing, and visualizing technical and performance data.
