Project Intern - LOGMe II

The internship will be implemented under two thematic areas within the LOGMe II Project, each linked to a specific country focus:
• Theme: Strategic Partnerships for Sustainable Development (SDG 17 Focus) – IUCN Burkina Faso Programme Office
The intern(s) will provide research, coordination, and administrative support to advance environmental governance, partnerships, and knowledge management. This includes supporting stakeholder coordination processes, reviewing policy and planning frameworks related to Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) and the 2030 Agenda, synthesising technical and field-based information, and contributing to knowledge products and reporting.
This role is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented individual seeking practical experience in environmental governance, partnerships, policy analysis, and project implementation within an international conservation and development context.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Theme: Strategic Partnerships for Sustainable Development (SDG 17 Focus) – Burkina Faso
Research and Partnerships Analysis
• Assist in mapping and analysing partnerships and stakeholder networks contributing to LOGMe II implementation in Burkina Faso.
• Support the review of national policies and planning frameworks to understand integration of LDN and sustainable land management.
• Assist in analysing how partnerships contribute to SDG 17, LDN, and sustainable development outcomes.
Coordination and Engagement
• Assist in documenting and summarizing stakeholder engagements, partnerships, and coordination platforms in Burkina Faso.
• Support the organization of meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations at national and local levels.
• Assist in the organization and documentation of capacity-building and training activities on sustainable land management, land restoration, and agricultural value chains implemented under LOGMe II.
Cutting Responsibilities
Knowledge Management and Learning:
• Support the documentation of knowledge exchange activities and capture lessons learned, good practices, and field-level experiences from project interventions.
• Support the development of simple knowledge products (e.g., briefs, summaries, presentations) highlighting linkages between science, policy, and practice.
• Support background research and literature reviews on environmental governance, LDN, and sustainable development.
Reporting and Data Support;
• Support data collection, compilation, and basic management of qualitative and quantitative information for reporting and documentation purposes.
• Assist in drafting sections of reports, communication materials, and organizing project documentation and knowledge resources.
Other Responsibilities;
• Perform other relevant tasks as assigned, in line with learning objectives and the research focus.
