JOB OPENING FOR IT SUPPORT

Position Name: IT Support

Division / Function: HR & Admin

Location of the Job: Abuja, Nigeria

Reports to: Manager, HR & Admin

Role Summary

Husk is seeking an experienced IT Administrator to join our growing team in Nigeria. The candidate should be adept in managing IT infrastructure, providing technical support, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our IT systems. Your role will involve overseeing networks, hardware, and software to maintain seamless operations. You will be the go-to person for IT-related issues and ensure that our systems support business objectives effectively. A strong problem-solving attitude and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

General

  • Play a key role in managing and maintaining IT systems and network infrastructure to support business operations.
  • Work closely with the IT Manager and other departments to ensure smooth system and network functionality.
  • Support the optimization of IT and network activities to ensure best practices are implemented for efficiency.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new employees on IT systems, network security, and best practices.

IT Infrastructure & System Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, software, and networks.
  • Manage server configurations, data backups, and system security.
  • Ensure proper functioning of IT equipment, including computers, printers, routers, and other peripherals.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues to minimize downtime.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures to protect company data, IT systems, and network infrastructure.

Network Support & Management

  • Set up and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections.
  • Monitor network security, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize performance.
  • Ensure secure and reliable internet and intranet connections for employees.
  • Perform regular network assessments, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with service providers and vendors for network-related troubleshooting and improvements.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical support to employees, resolving IT and network-related issues promptly.
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT assets, network configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

Software & Database Management

  • Ensure proper installation and maintenance of business-critical software and applications.
  • Assist in database management, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for software procurement and maintenance.

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce IT and network security policies, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Conduct periodic system and network audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing.
  • Educate employees on best practices for data security, IT usage, and network protection.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT administration, system management, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of network administration, IT security, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud computing, server management, and database administration is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and other operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

This role is based in Abuja, Nigeria with travels across Husk Office locations

Salary

Negotiable based on experience.
