The Green Finance Programme

The Green Finance Programme primarily looks to unlock and scale green finance by bridging the gap between supply and demand; through long-term partnerships and knowledge enhancement. The programme works across all sector desks at GreenCape and its objectives include facilitating the advancement of knowledge and networks in the green finance sector; directing industry support to low-carbon projects and companies and further developing ‘investment ready’ pipeline; developing innovative financing mechanisms and contextualising it to the South African landscape to scale green finance; and bridging the gap between green economy demand and the supply of green finance.

About the role

GreenCape would like to appoint a Senior Analyst (Green Finance) to the team, within our wider mandate to support the growth of the green economy as well as specifically funded green finance projects. The Senior Analyst can expect to work on understanding and building the knowledge base within GreenCape of the green finance landscape in South Africa. This includes sharing and expanding that knowledge base within green economy businesses and investment opportunities, increasing and connecting the supply of green finance as well as the demand for green finance, facilitating green economy and sustainable finance investment, thereby growing and developing the green economy in South Africa.
