Job Description

The Chief Commercial Officer holds a very vital and strategic role in the company. The Position is expected to provide strategic business development, marketing, and sales support to the Company’s operations in compliance with global best practices.

S/he is expected to work closely with the executive management team in developing new opportunities aimed at increasing footprint in the sector. S/he is expected to provide leadership to the Business Development, Marketing, Sales and customer excellence functions of the business, managing marketing leads, Marketing Executives, agencies and other third parties to develop and implement a marketing and business development strategy, engaging customers and maximizing commercial growth across departments and brands.

In summary, the following points represent the key expectations of the Management:

  • Commercial Strategy and Planning: Development and implementation of comprehensive commercial strategies to drive revenue growth, expand our customer base, and growing our market leadership position.

    Sales and Business Development: Lead our sales and business development teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction.

    Marketing and Branding: Development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote our brand, products, and services, and expand our market visibility and reputation.

    Customer Service and Engagement: Ensuring exceptional customer service and engagement and develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction and retention.

    Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and inform our commercial strategies.

    Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team, ensuring they have the necessary skills, training, and resources to excel in their roles.

The Chief Commercial Officer must have a proven track record of successfully managing people and teams in order to tactically:

  • Build, train, and motivate business development, marketing, and sales teams to consistently meet & exceed target.

    • Drive revenue growth, profitability and increase capital base of the organization.

    Enhance and drive GVE’s marketing and business development strategies.

    Working with the executive management and leadership in designing, developing, and implementing marketing programs, including identifying and carrying out strategic initiatives for business generation and enhancement of the Company’s reputation and brand.

    Drives change, innovation and builds a vision for the future through value added programs like CRM and client feedback.

    Business sense and financial acumen, with the ability to develop and manage budgets.

    Pro-actively analyses, tracks business development opportunities and programs to adjusts strategy and tactics that yields effective increase.

    Manages the Company’s advertising program, developing, and refining strategies to effectively reach target audiences.

    Liaise with Digital marketing team for the Company’s website, blogs, and other social media platforms.

    Ensures the operational execution of all programs with appropriate teams and systems for optimal efficiency.

    Responsible for leading the strategic planning and oversight of internal and external communications programs. Target audiences and key issues important to the firm’s practice/industry groups and Partners.

  • Evaluates Business Development sponsorship opportunities for the Company and oversees subsequent coordination of communication with conference or event organizers to maximize the value of sponsorships

    Oversees the planning and execution of seminars, webinars, conferences, and Company-sponsored marketing events.

    Leads Marketing and Business Development Department staff and workflow, including planning and administering the GVE’s marketing budget, and managing all marketing-related vendors.

    Researching prospective customers in the Energy sector and related industries.

    Qualifying and pitching our service to decisions makers and influencers to book meetings for BDMs and/or converting them into GVE’s customers.

    Understanding specific customer needs and developing the right approach to meet their requirements.

    Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Managing Director

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Professional Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA Preferred), with a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development, preferably in the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.

    Commercial Experience: Proven track record of commercial experience, including sales, marketing, business development, and customer service.

    Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading and developing high-performing commercial teams.

    Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies.

    Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.

    Memberships with professional bodies such as: Institute of Sales Management, Chartered Institute of Marketing and Customer Service Institute will be an added advantage
