Established in 2016, Green Scene Energy is dedicated to delivering affordable, high-quality clean energy solutions to off-grid and weak-grid communities in Ethiopia and across Africa. The products offered by Green Scene are namely solar home systems and lighting products, productive use/irrigation solutions, and EPC services for mini grid installations. To reach its customers, Green Scene Energy partners with retailers, microfinance institutions, telecom operators, and farmers' associations to distribute the products using a pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) financing mechanism. Starting operations in 2016, Green Scene has sold over 9,000 solar energy products in SNNPR, Amhara, and Oromia regions of Ethiopia. The target markets in the next five years is reaching 600,000 households across all regions.
