Managing Director
Green Resources
Operations
THE ORGANIZATION
Green Resources AS is an integrated forestry business operating across East Africa, with plantations, processing operations, and commercial activities in Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, and Kenya. The Group manages forestry assets across the value chain, from sustainable plantation management to wood processing and market distribution.
The company combines commercial forestry operations with responsible land stewardship, long-term environmental management, and measurable sustainability outcomes. Operations are managed to internationally recognised standards, including FSC certification and global environmental and social governance frameworks. Green Resources plays an important role in sustainable land use, responsible forestry, and long-term natural capital development across frontier markets in East Africa.
As demand grows for sustainable materials and responsible land use, the Group continues to strengthen operational performance while maintaining its commitment to environmental stewardship, community engagement, and long-term value creation.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Why This Role Matters
This is a rare opportunity to lead a multi-country forestry and natural capital platform across East Africa. The Managing Director will shape the Group’s commercial growth, strengthen investor engagement, and position Green Resources as a leading sustainable forestry business in frontier markets.
Reporting to the Board, the Managing Director will provide overall leadership of the Group, chair the Executive Committee, and serve as the primary external representative of the organisation. The role balances internal leadership — aligning teams and driving execution — with external leadership across investors, governments, and strategic partners.
With operational leadership anchored by the Chief Operating Officer and strong functional leadership across finance, ESG, and People & Culture, the Managing Director will complement the existing team by strengthening:
• Commercial development and market expansion • Strategic partnerships and capital engagement • Public affairs and stakeholder relationships • Investor positioning and impact narrative • Long-term growth strategy
WHAT YOU WILL DO

Foster accountability, collaboration, and leadership capability across multi-country operations.
2. Commercial Leadership and Market Development
Strengthen commercial strategy by identifying growth opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and developing strategic partnerships. Support diversification of revenue streams across timber, processed wood products, and emerging environmental markets.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and External Leadership
Serve as the principal external representative of the Group with investors, governments, regulators, and strategic partners. Lead public affairs engagement and strengthen the Group’s visibility in forestry, sustainability, and impact investing markets.
4. Financial Stewardship
Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure strong financial performance, disciplined capital allocation, and effective oversight.
5. Operational Alignment
Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure alignment between operational execution and commercial and strategic priorities.
6. Sustainability and Responsible Business
Collaborate with ESG leadership to integrate responsible land management and sustainability commitments into strategy and operations.
7. Organisational Capability
Partner with People & Culture leadership to strengthen organisational capability, leadership development, and succession planning.
