Globeleq is 70% owned by British International Investment and 30% by Norfund, the development finance institutions of the UK and Norway, and has a proven track record for supporting the ongoing development of the African power sector.

Globeleq’s various generation technologies include gas, wind, solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS), hydro and geothermal.

The Talent Acquisition Intern will support Globeleq's Employee Value Proposition by assisting in attracting and acquiring top talent across Group HQ Functions and enterprise projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to recruitment processes, talent acquisition strategies, and HR collaboration. The intern will gain practical experience in project coordination, candidate management, and the use of modern recruitment technologies, while contributing to a professional and efficient hiring process.

By the end of the internship, the Talent Acquisition Intern will:
  • Gain practical experience in end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Develop skills in candidate management and recruitment analytics
  • Understand the use of Applicant Tracking Systems and modern talent acquisition tools
  • Build knowledge of recruitment compliance and best practices across multiple geographies
  • Strengthen professional communication and project coordination skills
This is a 12-month internship based in Cape Town. Preference will be given to applications from the areas/communities that Globeleq operates in in South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and posting job descriptions on internal and external platforms using the Applicant Tracking Management System (Pinpoint).
  • Support the scheduling and coordination of interviews, assessments, and presentations.
  • Help monitor candidate applications and ensure timely communication with applicants to maintain a positive candidate experience.
  • Contribute to recruitment reporting and analytics by preparing data summaries and tracking KPIs (e.g., Diversity & Inclusion).
  • Provide administrative support in managing recruitment partners and agencies.
  • Assist with reference checks and compliance processes (e.g., GDPR requirements).
  • Participate in talent mapping and research projects to support future hiring needs.
  • Learn and apply Globeleq’s interview tools and support training initiatives for hiring managers.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or Industrial Organizational Psychology.
  • Interest in talent acquisition, recruitment, or HR practices.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital tools for talent attraction.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Prior internship or project experience in HR or recruitment is desirable but not required.
