The Copywriter is responsible to help us shape our brand. Contributing towards our continual expansion as a business and a key role player within the marketing team with a comprehensive all-round copywriting skill set, who will be maintaining and enhancing our current and future brand voice.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager

Paterson Grade:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers (Distributors, EPCs, Engineering consultants, Installers, and Consumers) on Freedom Won installations and create case studies on the solutions.
  • Constant communication with the internal engineering team to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Write and edit copy to support content, marketing, and organizational initiatives.
  • Ensure outgoing communications align with Freedom Won's brand voice and are delivered on time with clear, concise language.
  • Drive the content writing process for the website and develop high-level strategic messaging for major projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to produce and review content for various communication channels such as email, social media, blog, lead generation, brand awareness, PPC, branch marketing, SEO and PR.
  • Work in an agile environment, effectively communicate with teams, and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Conceptualize, write, and edit campaigns for digital, print, video, emails, social channels, and website copy.
  • Conduct research on products and services across different business lines to ensure accurate copywriting for assigned projects.
  • Gather feedback from internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to refine and improve the copy.
  • Maintain and enhance the content writing style guide and brand voice guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of the content marketing strategy.
  • Coordinate with the PR agency and oversee media guidelines on a day-to-day basis.
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and the ability to grasp technical information.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Team, Sales, and Creative departments to create compelling copy for all campaigns.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, Communications, Advertising, English, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in Technical Writing (writing engineering and highly technical content)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, and/or writing roles.
  • Advanced writing and editing skills with a strong focus on detail.
  • Proficiency in grammar and usage.
  • Experience writing for various online and offline marketing channels.
  • Ability to work effectively with designers, project managers, agencies, freelancers, and third-party vendors to produce marketing materials.
  • Must be able to work methodically and independently.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Good MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Adaption and incorporation of AI tools to optimize and streamline your workflow.
  • Keyword and market query analysis to respond with content on the related topic.

Beneficial Requirements:

  • Strong B2B and B2C experience or experience working in an agency or large brand name marketing department.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into effective messaging.
  • Familiarity with maintaining and refining content writing style guides and brand voice guidelines.
  • Knowledge of content marketing strategy development.
  • Experience coordinating with PR agencies and managing media guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills and adaptable communication style for interacting with team members, upper management, and clients.
  • Time management and organization skills to plan and execute large and small marketing projects and initiatives.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for coming up with ideas to increase demand for products and services.
  • Ability to work well in a pressurized environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to manage various projects and tasks.
  • Able to operate with limited supervision.

Further Responsibilities Outside Content Writing:

  • Assisting in market research and analysis.
  • Supporting the development and execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Managing social media accounts and engaging with followers.
  • Assisting the marketing team with event planning and coordination when needed.
  • Conducting competitive analysis.
  • Assisting with the implementation of marketing strategies.
  • Tracking and analysing marketing data and providing reports.
  • Coordinating with external vendors and agencies.
  • Assisting in the creation and editing of marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, and sales collateral.
  • Monitoring and reporting on marketing trends and industry developments.
  • Assisting in the coordination of marketing activities with other departments within the organization.
