Chief Security Officer

Form Ghana Limited, a leader in sustainable forest plantation management, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Security Officer (CSO) to oversee and strengthen our security operations. This role is ideal for a proactive and disciplined professional who can lead our security team, safeguard company assets, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering strong partnerships with external stakeholders.

Job Summary:

The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for leading and managing all security operations across Form Ghana. The role includes supervising and training security personnel, developing and implementing security strategies, coordinating with law enforcement and regulatory agencies, and ensuring effective crisis and risk management to protect the company’s people, assets, and operations.

Reporting:

The CSO would report directly to the Forest Manager (FM)

Main responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and train all security personnel
• Develop and implement security strategies and operating procedures
• Monitor and report on security operations, incidents, and risks
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including the police, Forestry Commission, and local authorities
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate threats such as illegal logging, theft, fire, poaching, and other risks
• Manage recruitment, scheduling, performance appraisal, and discipline of security staff
• Oversee the use, monitoring, and reporting of security equipment and systems (CCTV, alarms, access control, radios, etc.)
• Maintain positive relationships with local communities, law enforcement, and government agencies
• Lead crisis management and emergency response efforts
• Any other duties

Job Essentials

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, or a related discipline from a reputable university. Senior High School (SHS) certificate with requisite experience.Should have worked with any of the state security agencies, such as the Police or Military, for at least ten (10) years. Should have attained a minimum rank of Chief Inspector or a Senior Warrant Officer in the police or the Military, respectively
• At least five (5) years of progressive experience in security management, preferably in forestry, natural resources, or related industries
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership and personnel management
• Industry certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP), can be valuable.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian forest laws, security operations, and regulatory requirements
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Must hold a valid national ID card
• Must have completed National Service

• Strong knowledge of security strategies, risk management, and crisis response
• Excellent leadership, supervisory, and training skills
• Ability to liaise effectively with law enforcement agencies, regulators, and local stakeholders
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written (including reporting and incident documentation)
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
• Proficiency in security systems and equipment management (CCTV, alarms, access control, etc.)
• High level of integrity, discipline, and professionalism
