JOB SUMMARY

The Commercial Supervisor oversees the sale, transportation, and contract management of Form Ghana’s teak roundwood (raw poles and logs). You are also responsible for quality assurance, buyer engagement, regulatory compliance, and risk management. This role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage forestry-related operations efficiently.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the sales and transportation of roundwood (raw teak poles and logs).
  • Conduct infield roundwood production checks and audits.
  • Manage contracts and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Engage with potential buyers through field visits and outreach.
  • Identify new buyers in Ghana and international markets.
  • Communicate weekly with Form Ghana customers.
  • Ensure daily production figures are sent to the buyers.
  • Oversee timely invoicing and payment processes.
  • Manage the removal and logistics of timber products.
  • Ensure quality assurance in all commercial activities.
  • Prepare and monitor the annual sales plan and budget.
  • Oversee the chain of custody in compliance with FSC® principles.
  • Assist in managing communications and reporting to the Forestry Commission.
  • Handle felling permit applications and related processes.
  • Support the carbon marketing and sales process.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks.
  • Manage the Forestry Commission’s Ghana Wood Tracking System (GWTS) system, Plantation Production Certificate (PPC), and Log measurement Conveyance Certificate (LMCC) processes.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly sales and operations reports.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, forestry, supply chain management or a related field.
  • At least three to five (3 - 5) years of relevant work experience, preferably within the forestry or timber industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of forestry operations
  • Familiarity with FSC principles, chain of custody processes, and government regulations.
  • Ability to manage sales budgets, invoicing, and financial forecasting.
  • Experience in preparing sales reports, harvesting reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Physically and mentally fit for the job
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Must have valid NHIS or related health insurance and national identity cards, and a national SSNIT number
