Form Ghana Limited is a leading forest plantation company established in 2007. We manage 20,000ha, including over 12,000ha of teak and indigenous tree plantations and nature conservation areas.

We seek a skilled GIS/Operations Room Supervisor to join our team. You will supervise the activities in the operations room and assist the GIS Officer in managing spatial data, conducting analysis, and providing support for Form Ghana Ltd.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Minimum Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, environmental science, computer science or a related field.
  2. Must have a National Service Certificate
  3. At least 3 years of working experience in a related field
  4. Must have a valid National Health Insurance card.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  1. Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  2. Good interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
  3. Good presentation skills
  4. Be a team player
  5. Computer literate.
  6. Proficient in GIS software packages such as Google Earth, Garmin BaseCamp, ArcGIS, QGIS.
  7. Proficient in data collection and analysis.
  8. Be trustworthy, dependable and follow instructions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Collect standard geographical information, data capturing (digitising).
  2. Develop maps to GIS datasets.
  3. Create and maintain the structures necessary for GIS data storage.
  4. Manipulate, analyse, and present geographical information by converting GIS information the required format.
  5. Develop internet applications to present GIS data and tools.
  6. Assist in demarcation work in the field.
  7. Supervise the activities of the Operations Room operators.
  8. Manage and motivate staff to do their best.
  9. Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining the computerised forest fire detection system.
  10. Participate in a team.
  11. Assist in computer troubleshooting and software installation.
  12. Assist in monitoring and regulating internet usage.
  13. Submit accurate daily and monthly reports to the GIS Officer.
  14. Perform any other duties that will be assigned to you, not exceeding your competence and capacity.
