Job Overview

The role of Inventory & Revenue Manager is a strategic role in Finance Department primarily responsible for Inventory and Revenue Management across EEA Zambia’s 52 service centres, 2 warehouses and 10 kiosks. The successful candidate will join the department to own the responsibility of ensuring accurate processes are in place, accurate transaction recording, and quality assurance maintained for all inventory transactions across the business.

This role requires a keen ability to work cross-functionally with Product & Operations, CX, Customer Finance and Global Finance teams to develop and maintain strong business and system relationships, becoming a trusted partner to all stakeholders and be the point of contact for all SAP Finance related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Inventory and Revenue management in Finance department with oversight on data analysis, provision of insights into operational performance and trend analysis to facilitate strategic business decision making.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to deliver a robust Inventory Management SOP with focus on cost management and efficiency creation.
  • Inform Country Pricing Review decisions at Product level with post decision tracking of inventory stock levels, sales velocity, gross profit and contribution margins.
  • Coordinating and ensuring that all stock movements in warehouses and service centres are processed accurately and timely in SAP
  • Ensuring that all inventories in SAP warehouses and service centres are managed using serial or batch numbers in full to allow for ease of reconciliation.
  • Ensure monthly segmentation of receivable balances, analysis of bad debts writeoffs and provisions as well as correct booking of indirect taxes
  • Owns the Stocks Reconciliation Process and ensure Operations are accurate and highlights are made to ensure monthend closures in a timely manner
  • Own implementation of Governance Forum actions/initiatives in line with business requirements on inventory & revenue.
  • Own Inventory & Forecasting Process ensuring that both short term and long-term forecasts are validated as per SOP
  • Co-create with Data analytic support visualisation dashboards for management tracking and timely reporting.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices and standards for performance analysis, reporting, etc.
  • Warehouse and Service centres visits to interface with staff and ensure that the processes, corrections and stock reconciliations are being done timely and correctly
  • Keep track of the trend and reasonableness of stock losses and liaises with Operations for Corrective action.
  • Carry out a variety of technical and project related process reviews to ensure that significant risks are identified and managed appropriately by ensuring that the laid down procedures are fit for purpose.
  • Support financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements to ensure accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles
  • Have direct supervisory oversight and matrix reporting of the Field Inventory Specialist plus supporting inventory Officers.

Required Experience/ Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in accounting, 3 years in inventory management using ERP system such as SAP or Dynamics NAV
  • A degree in accounting, finance, or full ACCA/CIMA.
  • A masters degree in accounting, finance, or any related field is an added advange
  • Significant hands-on experience using ERP system such as SAP or Dynamics NAV with multiple stock locations.
  • Hands-on experience in change management during ERP implementation
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and smart Invoicing
  • Ability to prioritize and plan department work activities
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments.
  • Must be a team player who also works well independently.
  • Must be able draw conclusions from data analysis, and be decisive on strategy execution.
