Eja-Ice Kenya Ltd is a leading provider of solar-powered cold chain solutions, specializing in cold storage, refrigerated transport, and energy-efficient cooling solutions for the seafood, agriculture, and perishable goods industries. We are seeking a responsible and experienced Van Driver to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of frozen and perishable goods while maintaining the highest standards of timeliness, safety, and product integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Drive and operate a refrigerated delivery van to transport frozen seafood and perishable goods to customers.

• Timely Deliveries: Ensure prompt and efficient deliveries while following the assigned schedule and routes.

• Product Integrity: Maintain the cold chain during transportation by monitoring and ensuring proper functioning of the solar-powered refrigeration system.

• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine checks on the van, including oil levels, coolant, tire pressure, brakes, and refrigeration unit functionality.

• Loading & Unloading: Assist in loading, securing, and unloading goods, ensuring they are handled properly to avoid damage.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate delivery logs, fuel records, and temperature logs for compliance and reporting.

• Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, addressing delivery inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Compliance & Safety: Adhere to traffic laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations, including food safety standards.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• Valid Kenyan Driver’s License (Class B, C, or E) with a clean driving record.

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a professional driver, preferably in cold chain logistics or food distribution.

• Familiarity with refrigerated vans and temperature-controlled transportation is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Strong understanding of road safety, defensive driving, and delivery logistics.

• Ability to lift and move heavy packages when required.

• Excellent time management, communication, and customer service skills.

Additional Requirements

• Flexibility: Ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

• Trustworthiness & Reliability: Must be responsible and committed to timely and professional service delivery.

• Familiarity with Routes: Knowledge of major delivery routes in Kenya, particularly coastal and urban areas.
