About EarthEnable

EarthEnable (Tube Heza) is transforming how people live by making homes healthier for families across rural Rwanda, while reducing the polluting impact of the building industry on the environment. 80% of Rwandans live in homes with dirt floors that are dusty, unsanitary, and fertile breeding grounds for parasites and germs. While replacing a dirt floor with concrete has significant health benefits (reducing diarrhea by 50% and parasitic infections by 80%), concrete is unaffordable
for many who need it and is a major contributor to global pollution.

To address both the environmental and affordability challenges of concrete, EarthEnable has spent 8+ years developing and selling high-quality earthen floors and plasters that are 80% cheaper than concrete with 90% less embodied energy. Our next step is a collaborative research project to identify further innovations in low-carbon building.

The ideal candidate is a quick learner, a self-starter, comfortable working with computers, and excited to grow into a Systems Officer role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and resolve data entry errors in Salesforce, following documented resolution guidelines
  2. Travel to district offices across Rwanda (roughly 5 days per month) to clean data on-site, train field staff on tools, and troubleshoot user issues
  3. Provide first-line tech support to district teams and internal colleagues via WhatsApp, email, and in-person
  4. Support the rollout and training of new IT tools and process changes
  5. Learn and work with other IT tools used by EarthEnable, including Formyoula, Excel, and others

Must-Have Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  2. Strong computer skills, including intermediate Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data cleaning) and ability to quickly learn new programs
  3. Fluency in both spoken and written Kinyarwanda and English — the role requires training and supporting district staff who are often more comfortable in Kinyarwanda
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  5. Willingness and ability to travel regularly to districts across Rwanda, sometimes on short notice
  6. Positive attitude, self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit, and sense of humor
  7. Analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and outstanding work ethic
  8. Resourcefulness and creative problem-solving
  9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
