About Farm to Feed

Farm to Feed is a Kenyan agri-tech startup dedicated to reducing food loss and waste by creating a market for farmers’ full harvest. Founded in April 2020 as a COVID-19 relief initiative, it has evolved into a scalable model that connects smallholder farmers with buyers, ensuring that also edible but cosmetically imperfect fruits and vegetables reach consumers instead of going to waste.

Farm to Feed is building the digital backbone for efficient, transparent supply chains in Kenya, connecting suppliers and producers to commercial kitchens and institutional buyers through one integrated platform. Our purpose-built ERP powers procurement, real time inventory, receiving, dispatch, pricing and finance, working hand-in-hand with our B2B e-commerce and supplier mobile app to reduce manual work, improve fulfillment performance, and strengthen traceability and data quality from sourcing to delivery across multiple product categories. We’re a practical, execution-driven team that ships what moves the needle in operations and customer experience, using data to learn fast and scale what works.

Role summary

Own the end-to-end product strategy and delivery for our core platform (ERP/back-office, B2B e-commerce, supplier mobile app, and operational integrations). You’ll translate business goals (operations efficiency, growth, marketplace adoption, supplier performance, traceability/data quality) into a crisp roadmap, ship iteratively with engineering, and ensure we measure outcomes—not just output.

What you’ll do

Product strategy & roadmap

  • Define product vision, North Star metrics, quarterly OKRs, and roadmap across ERP, e-commerce, supplier app, and ERP
  • Prioritize ruthlessly: balance operational reliability, growth features, compliance/data quality, and long-term platform scalability.

Discovery & validation

  • Run structured discovery with ops teams, buyers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders (interviews, field visits, workflow mapping, usability tests).
  • Turn messy real-world workflows (inventory, purchasing, receiving, dispatch, payments, returns) into clean, adoptable product experiences.

Delivery leadership

  • Write clear PRDs/user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics. o Lead sprint planning with engineering; drive cross-functional alignment and unblock delivery.
  • Coordinate integrations and operational rollouts (including training, release notes, change management).

Platform & reliability

  • Partner with engineering to keep reliability high: incident learnings → product fixes, better UX, better guardrails, better monitoring.
  • Ensure security-by-design (role-based access, audit trails, OTP/2FA flows where applicable).

What success looks like (sample KPIs)

  • Order cycle time, fill rate, on-time delivery, supplier acceptance rate.
  • Supplier app adoption, active usage, time-to-complete key workflows.
  • Data completeness for traceability fields; reduction in manual corrections.
  • Release predictability and stakeholder satisfaction

Requirements

  • Experience: 5–8+ years in Product Management, ideally in B2B SaaS, ERP/marketplace, logistics, fintech, or other operations-heavy environments where data quality and process design matter.
  • Proven delivery: Demonstrated track record shipping multi-module products across web + mobile + APIs/integrations, from discovery to rollout, in agile teams.
  • Analytical strength: Comfortable using data to drive decisions—strong grasp of product metrics, cohort/funnel thinking, and SQL/BI literacy (enough to self-serve insights and sanity-check assumptions).
  • Business & ops mindset: Ability to translate operational realities (inventory, purchasing, receiving, dispatch, payments/reconciliation) into product decisions that improve efficiency, margin, and customer experience.
  • Structured working style: Strong planning and execution discipline—clear PRDs, crisp acceptance criteria, documented decisions, and predictable delivery cadence.
  • Stakeholder leadership: Excellent stakeholder management across Ops, Sales/Commercial, Finance, and Engineering—able to align priorities, handle trade-offs, and keep everyone moving without drama (or at least without public drama).
  • Communication: Clear, confident communicator—can simplify complexity, run effective workshops, and present product updates and roadmap decisions to leadership and partners.
  • Ownership & accountability: Strong sense of ownership; comfortable being accountable for outcomes (not just shipping features) and holding the team to measurable success metrics.
  • Customer empathy: Can engage users directly (buyers, ops teams, suppliers), extract signal from noise, and build products people actually adopt.

Nice to have

  • Experience in logistics, procurement, FMCG/agri-supply chains, payments, or ERP like systems.
  • Exposure to Amazon Web Services environments, integrations, and data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Twilio / WhatsApp channel workflows, and Intuit QuickBooks style accounting integrations.

Reporting line & working style

  • Reports to: Head of Technology
  • Works closely with: Engineering, Ops/Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, Finance, Sales/Customer Support, Data/Analytics.

What we offer

  • High-impact mission: You’ll shape the digital backbone powering real-world food supply chains—improving reliability, transparency, and efficiency for buyers and suppliers.
  • Real ownership: You won’t be a “ticket translator.” You’ll own outcomes, roadmap trade-offs, and how we measure success.
  • Complex, meaningful problems: ERP + marketplace + supplier workflows + integrations—if you like serious systems, you’ll be very busy (in a good way).
  • A strong engineering partner: You’ll work with a capable team that values pragmatism, clean delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Room to build: Opportunity to mature product practice—discovery rituals, metrics, roadmaps, release process, and product ops foundations.
  • Competitive compensation: Market-aligned salary for a PM role with other perks.
  • Flexible working: Hybrid/remote-friendly where possible, with occasional on-the ground time to stay close to operations and users.
