About Us

Farm to Feed is building a tech-enabled, climate-resilient food system in Africa. We rescue surplus and imperfect produce from farms, connect it to markets, and increasingly source climate-friendly ingredients for the world. We are scaling quickly and need strong leadership to guide our strategy, finance, and operations.

The Role

We are looking for a mission-driven Head of Finance to lead our financial operations and strategy. This person will play a key leadership role in building robust systems, managing financial planning and analysis, and supporting the CEO in fundraising and investor relations.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on—able to strengthen financial discipline while guiding long-term planning and capital allocation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the finance function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency across all financial operations.
  • Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and growth.
  • Lead cashflow management and scenario modelling to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Build and strengthen financial governance, internal controls, and risk management systems.

2. Fundraising & Investor Relations

  • Support the CEO in preparing and executing fundraising strategies (equity, debt, and grants).
  • Lead preparation of investor materials, financial models, and data rooms.
  • Manage investor relations, reporting, and communications to maintain confidence and transparency.
  • Prepare board packs and financial performance dashboards for quarterly meetings.

3. Strategic Projects & Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with the leadership team on strategic initiatives including pricing, expansion, and capital allocation.
  • Support evaluation of partnerships, new markets, and revenue opportunities through financial analysis.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on organisational performance, capital efficiency, and risk.

4. Operational Finance Oversight

  • Supervise the finance and accounting team, ensuring timely reporting, reconciliations, and audit readiness.
  • Improve operational finance systems, processes, and reporting tools to support scale.
  • Oversee payables, receivables, payroll, and procurement processes to maintain efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and financial service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory financial obligations.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years’ progressive experience in finance, accounting, or investment roles within high-growth or impact-driven organisations.
  • Demonstrated success in managing FP&A, financial reporting, and compliance in dynamic environments.
  • Strong financial modelling, analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Experience leading or supporting fundraising, investor relations, or capital deployment (Series A experience preferred).
  • Solid understanding of Kenyan tax, audit, and compliance frameworks; regional exposure is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and implement scalable systems and processes.
  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Food/Trading/Agriculture industry experience is a plus

You’ll Thrive Here If You...

  • Combine strategic thinking with operational rigour.
  • Are proactive, structured, and solutions-oriented.
  • Can translate numbers into clear insights and stories.
  • Are passionate about sustainable food systems and climate-positive impact.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings.

What We Offer

  • A leadership role shaping the financial health of a rapidly growing impact venture.
  • Direct collaboration with the CEO and Board.
  • Exposure to leading investors and partners across Africa’s food and climate ecosystem.
  • Competitive compensation, health benefits, and a mission-driven, high-performing team.
