We are expanding our operations and seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance & Quality Control Coordinator to ensure the highest standards in our supply chain, processing, and distribution activities.

Job Summary

The QA/QC Coordinator will oversee and implement quality control and assurance measures across Samaking’s fish processing and distribution network. This role ensures compliance with food safety regulations, enhances traceability, minimizes post-harvest losses, and upholds the highest product quality for our customers. The QA/QC Coordinator will set and be the custodian of QA and QC policies across the key parts of our business, including but not limited to sourcing of fish, processing, distribution center, and logistics. The ideal candidate will work closely with procurement, operations, and sales teams to maintain and improve our quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures across the supply chain.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and certification requirements, including HACCP, ISO 22000, and EU export standards.
    • Conduct routine inspections and audits at processing facilities and distribution points.
    • Maintain documentation and records of quality checks and compliance activities.
  2. Traceability & Product Safety:
    • Develop and oversee traceability systems to ensure complete visibility from sourcing to final distribution.
    • Implement procedures to minimize post-harvest losses and improve cold chain integrity.
    • Ensure adherence to hygiene and sanitation standards at all handling points.
  3. Supplier & Vendor Quality Control:
    • Conduct quality checks for fish sourced from farmers, aggregators, and suppliers.
    • Work with suppliers to maintain consistent product standards and minimize defects.
    • Provide training and capacity-building support to suppliers on best practices.
  4. Process Improvement & Training:
    • Develop training programs on food safety, quality management, and compliance for internal teams and external partners.
    • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance product quality.
    • Collaborate with operations teams to optimize workflows and reduce quality-related risks.
  5. Customer & Market Feedback:
    • Monitor customer complaints and quality issues, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions.
    • Provide insights on market expectations regarding product quality and safety standards.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Laboratory Sciences, Microbiology, or a related field. A background in Food Science is an added advantage.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in quality control, food safety, or compliance, preferably in the seafood, agriculture, or FMCG industries.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, EU regulations, and other relevant food safety standards.
  • Experience in handling cold chain logistics and perishable products is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
