Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research and Insights Manager to lead our research efforts and provide actionable insights to drive our business strategies. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders to define research priorities, lead research studies, and extract insights that will inform product development priorities and marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in market research, data analysis, and a deep understanding of off-grid customers in emerging markets.

Roles & Responsibilities

Market Research:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

  • Develop and manage research projects, including surveys, focus groups, and field studies.

  • Work with regional sales, product category and trade marketing teams to analyze sales trends and estimate channel-wise sales opportunities for new innovations.

  • Collaborate on new products’ requirements, price, potential and designs as input the product roadmap.

Consumer Insights:

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to understand their needs, preferences, and pain points.

  • Maintain a searchable database of all research completed by d.light for easy future reference.

  • Develop customer personas and journey maps to inform product development and marketing strategies.

  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure customer insights are integrated into new products and services.

Data Analysis:

  • Utilize advanced data analytics tools to interpret data and generate actionable insights.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Strategic Planning:

  • Support strategic planning efforts by providing data-driven insights and forecasts.

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships.

  • Contribute to the development of business cases and strategic initiatives.


Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.

  • 5 years in roles in product marketing, brand building and trade marketing / Field Sales (minimum 1 year in field sales or trade marketing role) in a multinational B2C FMCG, consumer durables or consumer electronics organization.

  • Proven experience in designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research studies.

  • Prior experience in new product development with expertise in insight mining through field researches.

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills with a strategic ability.

  • Strong mindset for meeting or exceeding expectations and able to demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality.

  • Strong people management skills and the ability to manage and persuade at all levels of the company is essential.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
