Job description
CrossBoundary Advisory is recruiting a full-time Communications and Event Manager. You will be responsible for the planning and execution of high-impact communications campaigns and events that deliver strong results for our clients and our globally distributed firm. This role involves working closely on project teams to understand client needs and deliver against clear timelines. The Communications and Events Manager will ensure all events and deliverables align with the firm’s strategic goals and client expectations. This role requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work across multiple teams in diverse global markets.

The Communications and Events Manager will be a member of CrossBoundary Group’s Communications team and report to the Global Head of Communications. You will work closely day-to-day with CrossBoundary Advisory’s investment advisory teams around the world, as well as the Corporate Development and Administration departments.

Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and project teams to understand their needs and expectations
  • Work closely with project teams to align event strategies with client goals and CrossBoundary’s business objectives
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client communications deliverables and events
  • Provide regular updates to project teams on event planning and execution progress
  • Collect and analyze client feedback to continuously improve communication and event experiences

Event Planning and Execution
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of events such as roundtables, exhibitions, webinars, conferences, recruiting and networking events
  • Develop detailed event plans, including venue selection, agendas, schedules, audiovisual setup, catering, transportation and logistics
  • Coordinate with vendors, venues, and service providers to ensure all event logistics are handled efficiently
  • Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts, and track expenses to ensure cost-effective event management
  • Create and oversee the development of event materials, such as displays, invitations, promotional content, handouts, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards

Collaboration and Coordination
  • Work closely with internal teams and departments, including investment advisory project teams, Corporate Development, Administration and Communications to ensure cohesive client communication and event execution
  • Collaborate with senior management to align communication and event objectives with CrossBoundary’s strategic goals
  • Coordinate with teams and consultants in our markets to gather necessary information and insights for event planning and execution

On-Site Event Management
  • Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth execution and handle any issues that arise
  • Oversee event setup, registration, and attendee management, as needed
  • Ensure a high level of client satisfaction by delivering seamless and professional event experiences

Post-Event Analysis and Reporting
  • Collect and analyze event performance data to measure success and identify areas for improvement
  • Contribute to post-event reports and presentations for internal and client review
  • Implement improvements based on feedback and analysis to enhance future events

Innovation and Best Practices
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in event management and client relationship building
  • Continuously seek innovative ways to enhance client engagement and event experiences
  • Share insights and best practices with the broader team to promote continuous improvement and contribute to business development

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • 5-7+ years’ experience in event planning and client relationship management, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Ability to vet and manage a variety of service providers in diverse and emerging markets
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in communication and event management software and tools
  • Ability to travel as required for event execution and client meetings
  • Event management or project management certification a distinct advantage

Location
Candidates will join our team in any of our offices in Africa; London, UK; or Washington D.C.. This role will involve frequent travel.
