Finance Administration & Logistics Coordinator

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) is providing ~US$14.8 million to the Government of Angola for the project “Strengthen Management and Climate Change Resilience in Angola's Conservation Areas for Sustainable Development”, one of fifteen Child Projects under the Global Wildlife Program (GWP) Phase II. The project is financed through the GEF Trust Fund and the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF), and as such includes 13 outcomes related to climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, capacity development and knowledge management. These outcomes will be achieved within seven years and are distributed among four project components which include: strengthening the resilience of local communities to climate change; improving conservation area management and wildlife conservation; enhancing the technical and institutional capacity of climate change and conservation institutions, and; facilitating project monitoring, knowledge management and sharing of lessons learned.

Conservation International GEF Agency (CIGEF) is the Implementing Agency for this project.

POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in Angola

Reporting to the Senior Operations and Finance Manager, the Finance, Administration and Logistics Coordinator will provide administrative and organizational support for the project including administrative support to the senior staff.


  • Provide administrative and organizational support to the project, including administrative support to the Project Executive Director, Project Technical Director and Senior Operations and Finance Manager.
  • Organize conference calls, team/committee meetings, trainings, workshops, social events and manage agendas, logistics, minutes, and reporting.
  • Manage travel arrangements for the project management unit.
  • Support training and learning events including communications, travel logistics, venue oversight, and processing travel reimbursements and related event expenses.
  • Support overall project communications including drafting memos, presentations, conducting and compiling research.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the project website and/or social media presence

People and Resource Management Responsibilities

  • This position supervises the driver
  • Does not have authority to allocate resources or approve budget expenditures.


  • Typical office environment. May need to work extended hours as needed.
  • Guidance on flexible work arrangements will be shared during the interview process.



  • 2 - 4 years of related work experience, preferably in the conservation, NGO, or advocacy arena.
  • Ability to function well in a multicultural, diverse, and fast-paced work team environment.
  • Comfortable managing multiple duties and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Service focus. Courteous, tactful, and proven ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work under general supervision and take initiative to solve problems under the supervisor's direction.
  • Excellent Portuguese oral and written communication skills.


  • Bachelor’s degree or up to four years of college-level work, preferred.
  • Experience in a lead support role is desired.
  • English oral and written communication skills.
