We're hiring: Management Accountant 🇰🇪

CHAJI is building the energy rails for light electric vehicle electrification in East Africa. Our energy stack spans fast decentralised charging, a battery intelligence platform, and Energy-as-a-Service financing models — together harnessing the convergence of battery innovation and fast charging to drive LEV electrification at scale across emerging markets.

As we grow, we're looking for a Management Accountant to take the lead on CHAJI's day-to-day finance operations — from bookkeeping and payroll to management accounts, grant reporting, and audit prep.

You'll play a key hands-on role in CHAJI's finance function, helping us consolidate, strengthen, and streamline our systems and processes as we grow — with direct exposure to our CEO and CTO.

What you'll be doing:

🔹 End-to-end bookkeeping, payments, and treasury (Zoho Books, M-Pesa float, supplier management)

🔹 Monthly payroll and full statutory compliance (PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, Housing Levy, iTax)

🔹 Budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and monthly management accounts

🔹 Donor/grant reporting and project accounting across multiple projects

🔹 Audit readiness and continuous improvement of internal controls

🔹 Helping consolidate and streamline finance systems and processes as we scale

What we're looking for:

✅ BCom/Accounting/Finance degree + CPA or ACCA (finalist or qualified)

✅ 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, managing core parts of a finance function

✅ Strong grasp of Kenyan tax law and statutory requirements

✅ Hands-on experience with accounting software (Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar)

✅ Bonus: experience with donor-funded grants and helping strengthen finance systems
