BURN seeks an exceptionally skilled Senior Grants Writer to craft complex, successful proposals in a demanding environment. The Sr. Grants Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the proposal development process, from sourcing an opportunity to the contracting stage.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, meticulous, proactive, a team player with outstanding research and writing skills and dedicated to BURN’s mission. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including finance, sales, and product development teams, international development partners, governments, and private sector organizations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the proposal development process – incl. developing the technical narrative, M&E frameworks, budgets and budget narratives, required annexes, etc.
- Research and develop a comprehensive grants portfolio, addressing both solicited and unsolicited opportunities.
- Support the full grant cycle, including solicitation, proposal writing, implementation, monitoring, compliance, reporting, and close-out.
- Manage timelines and coordinate internal team efforts to ensure the timely completion and submission of high-quality application packages.
- Notify the supervisor of any potential delays in submissions and proactively mitigate risks by proposing effective solutions.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in grants writing in an international, fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to think strategically, collaborate with diverse teams, work in multicultural settings, and operate with a high degree of independence.
- Exceptional attention to detail in a high-demand environment with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated success in securing both solicited and unsolicited grants from a wide range of organizations and managing multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Strong project management, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with grants databases, CRM systems (preferably Zoho), and grant tracking systems is desirable.
- Excellent skills in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
