WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The Regional Technical Developer – Mining Solutions is responsible for driving technical-led business growth across the mining sector by developing new flotation opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and positioning BASF Mining Solutions as a preferred supplier. The role combines deep technical expertise in mineral processing with strong business development capabilities, supporting customers through technical assessments, trials, and solution implementation across multiple regions.
Duties will include the following:
- Identify and develop new flotation business opportunities beyond the current project and opportunity pipeline
- Form, maintain, and support strategic partnerships aligned with regional business growth objectives
- Lead initial technical discussions with customers to assess needs, propose solutions, and define development pathways
- Plan, conduct, and support laboratory tests and plant trials, both in BASF application labs and at customer sites
- Provide cost-effective and efficient technical support to the sub-regional business to support sustainable sales growth
- Manage opportunities in Salesforce and provide regular updates on customer engagement, expected sales timelines, and competitive landscape
- Establish strong professional relationships with customer representatives at all organizational levels and understand decision-making processes
- Build and maintain market intelligence, including customer KPIs, competitive insights, market needs, and growth potential
WHAT YOU OFFER
- University degree in Engineering or Science, preferably Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the mining or engineering industry
- Proven expertise in mineral processing, with strong, hands-on knowledge of flotation techniques
- Demonstrated sales or business development experience with established customer relationships is a strong advantage
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel extensively across a wide range of countries
- Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of working independently
- Flexible approach to work in a dynamic, customer-focused environment
