We are looking for a Business Manager to join our Beauty Care Solutions (BCS) team in Care Chemicals.

As a Business Manager in the Beauty Care Solutions team, you will lead the business development and customer engagement efforts across Americas, acting as the key BCS focal point for local teams, distributors, and strategic customers. Your work will directly accelerate BCS business growth by shaping go to market strategies, developing opportunities, and driving customer projects from concept to realization.

Approximately 30% travel is required for this role. Candidates based near Florham Park, NJ have the option to work on‑site for collaboration as needed.

  • Management of Americas Bioactives Solutions Business (P&L responsibility)
    • Regional Business steering across marketing (incl. price & margin management, channel management, market promotion/ communication, customer & product portfolio management), sales and technical service model
    • Ensure regional organization obtains, update, maintains and evaluate market trends and needs, applications of new products/technologies and intelligence on competitors in countries
    • Cost management to achieve regional market profit through diligent focus on sales administration and services cost, discretionary spending, and management of local CAPEX budget
    • Stringent control of inventory levels (OIV, DIV) and overdues (DSO, OQ) to improve efficiency within the business
    • Ensure compliance in the responsible countries, including regulatory compliance
  • Defining and implementing regional go to market strategies, ensuring alignment between global BCS priorities and local market realities, and adapting approaches to regional maturity, competitiveness, and channel structure.
  • Leading a team of experts to support customer interactions, technical discussions, and commercial alignment, including product launches, promotional activities, and communications.
  • Gathering market needs, intelligence, and competitive insights to feed innovation, strengthen customer value propositions, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Championing capability building across internal teams, distributors, and customers through structured training, expert guidance, and development of market ready technical and commercial competencies.
  • Orchestrating cross functional teams (Sales, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, Supply Chain) to deliver customer projects, innovation launches, and commercial initiatives that strengthen BCS positioning and unlock growth.

If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related discipline.
  • Possess 5–10 years of progressive experience in commercial, marketing, or business development roles within personal care, active ingredients sectors.
  • Bring demonstrated leadership in market development with strong ability to translate technical active ingredient value propositions into compelling commercial narratives and growth opportunities.
  • Have proven experience managing cross functional teams and influencing without direct authority.
  • Possess solid business acumen and comfort with P&L linked decision making, pricing logic, and portfolio value optimization.
  • Hold strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Pay transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
